Crown Mines - Poldark Country
Cornish landscape paintings and drawings.
Nothing symbolizes the perils of subterranean shafts,
Like the Crowns engine houses at the village of Botallack,
Precariously perched on the rugged West coast,
The empty twin towers are tall granite ghosts,
The tin was entwined in much tougher stone,
And only extracted by brute force alone.
( Few miners here were fit to work after the age of 40 )
